Now it can be told--Team Suite gets a new member
So, the word is out on the street: there’s a new product in town and they call it Data Dude. OK, not really, it's called Visual Studio Team Edition for Data Professionals (VSTEDP). For the last six weeks or so I’ve been working with early versions of the product and I have to say, I think it’s pretty cool. The product is full of some great tools to make your life better when it comes to working with databases. My two favorite features have to be source code control integration with Team Foundation Server (see Figure 1) and support for Unit Testing (see Figure 2). You can read more about why, etc. at Cameron’s blog. There’s also the formal press release and Gert’s blog too. There's also the new team center.

So what have I been doing with the product besides poking around? I’m having the pleasure of building virtual machine images and writing some hands-on labs (really step-by-step walkthroughs) for the product as well as some other stuff. If you come to Tech Ed in Boston next month, you can give them a try, see us talk about it in our pre-con and talk to team one-on-one.
End of line.
