I'm in Redmond this week for the Office 2007 Dev. Con. and during the keynote, Bill Gates and Steven Sinofsky did an open mike session.
They announced VSTO 3 which means tons of cool managed goodness in Office 2007.
However, I questioned both of them on WinFX and Vista. I feel we're getting a mixed message related to managed code development (a message which isn't helped by having WinFX OFF by default in the Feb CTP of Vista).
So I asked. Well Bill himself said there were some issues with installation perf and they've fixed that and now WinFX will be ON by default in Vista.
Wahoo!
